There is a particular ease that a well-made bowl set brings to a room, and the Stoneware Mini Bowl Set is shaped to give it. The glazed stoneware construction is what carries it: honest materials, plainly handled. It was drawn with dining tables and everyday table settings in mind, though it rarely looks out of place elsewhere. There is enough presence here for a bare space and enough restraint for a busy one. The proportions were settled before the styling, which is usually the right order.
The practical case for it is simple. It is deliberately quiet in styling, which is what keeps it from dating. It also sits well beside the rest of the Northern Fashions range. It photographs well, but it was made to be lived with rather than looked at. Nothing here is decorative for its own sake; every part of it has a job.
We check each one over before it ships, from the finish through to the fittings. Small differences in grain, tone and weave between individual pieces are expected and are not defects. Wash before first use and let pieces cool fully before washing to protect the glaze and finish. Check each piece for chips before use and keep it away from direct flame and thermal shock.
