The Aktis Alabaster Pendant Light was drawn around one idea: something you stop noticing because it simply works. Built from natural alabaster with a metal frame, it has the weight and finish to hold its own in daily use. It was drawn with kitchen islands, dining tables and stairwells in mind, though it rarely looks out of place elsewhere. It photographs well, but it was made to be lived with rather than looked at. The proportions were settled before the styling, which is usually the right order.
The practical case for it is simple. The lines are restrained enough to sit against almost any palette without competing with it. It also sits well beside the rest of the Northern Fashions range. Nothing here is decorative for its own sake; every part of it has a job.
We check each one over before it ships, from the finish through to the fittings. Because the materials are natural, colour and pattern shift slightly between units. Wipe with a dry cloth and always isolate the fitting at the socket before fitting or removing a bulb. For safety, fix the canopy to a sound structural ceiling point, isolate the circuit at the consumer unit before work, and have any hard-wired connection made by a qualified electrician.
