The Blyra Brass Pendant Light was drawn around one idea: something you stop noticing because it simply works. It is made from brass with curved dome shades, so the substance sits in the material rather than the styling. It was drawn with kitchen islands, dining tables and stairwells in mind, though it rarely looks out of place elsewhere. The proportions were settled before the styling, which is usually the right order. It photographs well, but it was made to be lived with rather than looked at.
Day to day, what you notice is not the piece so much as what it does to the space around it. It is deliberately quiet in styling, which is what keeps it from dating.
