The Naerix Shell Table Lamp works as a sculptural object first and a light source second. Stainless steel and Iron give it weight and a surface worth touching. Switched off it still holds the eye; switched on it washes the surrounding surfaces in a warm, low glare. Shade and body are balanced so the fixture looks resolved whether it is the only light on or one of several.
It belongs in a living room and a bedroom, where soft, low light does more for the room than brightness ever does. Warm bulbs suit it best; cooler temperatures flatten the material and lose most of what makes it worth having.
