The Saratoga Dune Aluminum Loveseat earns its place through proportion rather than volume. Built in powder-coated aluminium, open-weave all-weather rope, bouclé cushions, it is put together to last longer than the season it arrives in. It is at home in balconies, small terraces and shaded corners, and does not demand a particular style of interior to work. It suits a home being put together slowly, where each piece has to hold its own.
Nothing about the shape is trend-led, so it should still look right in five years. The lines are restrained enough to sit against almost any palette without competing with it. It sits well beside the rest of the Northern Fashions range if you are furnishing a room one piece at a time. Small details — the edges, the joins, the underside — were given the same attention as the front.
Each unit is inspected before dispatch, with particular attention to the finish and the joins. Because the materials are natural, colour and grain shift slightly between units; that variation is part of the product rather than a fault in it. Rinse with fresh water, dry with a soft cloth, and cover or store the cushions out of season. Buying once and buying properly tends to work out cheaper than replacing something twice.
