Yakusugi Wabi-sabi Wood Pendant Light does the quiet work of good lighting: warmth first, sculpture second. It was chosen for the Levena range for its modern and japandi character and its brass, wood construction, which is the sort of detail that reads as quality long after the novelty of a new piece wears off. The natural finish keeps it easy to place beside pieces you already own.
It takes a standard bulb, so you can tune the warmth of the room by choosing the lamp rather than replacing the fixture. Metalwork is finished by hand, so the surface carries a depth that plated hardware never quite reaches, and it will patina gently with time. Dimensions are given as supplied — 1kg — so you can measure the space before it arrives rather than after. It works equally well in a newly finished space and in a room that has been lived in for years.
Hard-wired installation by a qualified electrician is recommended, and the fitting arrives with the mounting hardware it needs. Electrical work should be carried out by a qualified electrician, with the circuit isolated before installation.
