The Vessel Abstract Pottery Sculpture is a hand-built clay sculpture shaped as a tall, narrow vessel. It is an object to look at rather than to use, and it holds a surface on its own.
Vertical form adds height to a flat shelf line. Hand-built in clay with a matte finish. Decorative rather than functional, so no glazing inside. Works singly or in a pair at different heights. Handwork means small differences in profile, surface and finish from one piece to the next, which is what separates a made object from a moulded one. Every piece in this part of the range is checked before it leaves us, and anything that does not meet the standard does not ship. If you are pulling a room together rather than buying a single item, it sits comfortably alongside the rest of the collection. We would rather sell one piece that lasts a decade than three that do not.
It is a year-round piece rather than a seasonal one, and it holds its place in a room through every month. Set the piece on a stable, level surface where it cannot be knocked over, and keep it out of reach of small children and pets. One of the pieces we keep in the Levena collection year-round.
