Hand Glazed Ceramic Base
Glaze is applied and fired by hand, which is why the surface has depth rather than a flat printed colour.
No Two Glazes Alike
Firing changes how glaze settles, so every Elanor carries small variations that belong only to it.
Warm Light On Warm Glaze
Lit from above, the glaze picks up the light and gives the whole base a soft sheen.
Glaze moves and settles differently in the kiln, so each base finishes slightly differently. That variation is the mark of a hand finished piece.
Fired ceramic is hard and stable. Treat it like good pottery: it will not scratch easily but it does not enjoy being dropped.
A soft damp cloth is enough. The glaze is sealed, so nothing soaks in.
Ceramic carries weight low down, which is what keeps the lamp planted on a side table.
