The Kosmos Heated Charcoal Sofa earns its place through proportion rather than volume. Built in glass fibre reinforced concrete on powder-coated steel legs, it is put together to last longer than the season it arrives in. It is at home in terraces, patios and covered outdoor rooms, and does not demand a particular style of interior to work. It suits a home being put together slowly, where each piece has to hold its own.

We check each one over before it ships, from the finish through to the fittings. Natural materials vary a little from piece to piece, and small differences in tone and texture are expected. Rinse with fresh water and dry with a soft cloth; it is made to live outdoors year-round. Fire and electrical safety: the heating element is mains-powered — keep the connection dry, never cover the element in use, keep fabrics and other combustibles clear of the heated surface, and switch off at the socket before cleaning or moving it. Looked after simply, it should outlast several rounds of redecorating.
