The Marbella Marble Table Lamp was designed for the hours after the overhead light goes off. Built from natural marble, the form reads solid without looking heavy, and the light it throws stays soft at the edges. It was drawn with living room consoles and side tables in mind, though it rarely looks out of place anywhere. There is enough presence here for an empty surface and enough restraint for a crowded one.
In use, the appeal is the quality of the light rather than the brightness of it. A single warm source at table height reads as far more comfortable than a ceiling fitting doing the same job, and it makes an evening room feel considerably smaller and warmer than it is. We check each one over before it ships, from the finish through to the cable and switch. Natural materials vary a little from piece to piece; that variation is part of the product rather than a fault in it. Keep it out of standing water, wipe it down dry, and give it a stable spot to sit. Always isolate the lamp at the socket before fitting or removing a bulb.
